The reason behind the failure of the Gaza ceasefire negotiations according to the American media.

The American media Axios has narrated a report on the reason for the failure of Cairo negotiations for a cease-fire in the Gaza war.

According to Axios, negotiations in Cairo regarding Israeli and Palestinian prisoners to reach a ceasefire in the Gaza war ended without achieving tangible progress.

A well-informed source told Axios that the talks did not make any progress and ended without any results.

A Zionist source has emphasized in a conversation with Axios that the only progress achieved in these negotiations is the understanding of the gaps that must be filled to enter future negotiations to reach a ceasefire.

This knowledgeable source stated that what prevented more serious negotiations at the Cairo meeting was the number of prisoners that Hamas wanted to release, but Tel Aviv opposed this number and this issue caused the negotiations to fail.

Before Axios, the American newspaper New York Times wrote in a report, citing officials and knowledgeable sources, that the two sides are still far from freeing Palestinian prisoners for every Israeli prisoner because the differences are very fundamental.

At the same time, the content of the negotiations was good despite the lack of progress, and after the Israeli delegation left Cairo, low-level officials continued the negotiations, informed officials told the New York Times.

Yesterday evening, the Israeli army radio announced that the negotiations in Cairo have ended and the Israeli delegation is returning to Tel Aviv.

Meanwhile, Israel’s TV channel 12 confirmed that the Israeli delegation led by the head of the Mossad left Cairo without any signs of progress.

Hossam Badran, a member of Hamas’s political office, also said that it is too early to talk about the details of the ongoing negotiations in Cairo.

Badran added that Netanyahu understood that it was impossible to destroy Hamas and the resistance, so he was forced to negotiate.

Al-Arabi quoted a well-informed source as saying that the current round of negotiations in Cairo on the ceasefire in Gaza will last two or three days.

Earlier, a senior member of the Palestinian Islamic resistance movement Hamas announced that there is currently no delegation from this movement in Cairo.
