PNN – A US Special Forces veteran has admitted that any operation to rescue the crew of a missing US F-15 jet targeted by Iran would be “very dangerous and complex”.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network; Brian Stern, a veteran of the US Special Forces who founded a company specializing in rescuing people from war zones and natural disasters, told CNN on Saturday evening: This job (rescue operation) is not as simple as flying a helicopter, turning on the radio, and talking to the pilot.

This American veteran emphasized: Any operation to rescue the missing crew would be extremely dangerous and complex. Also, the landing of the aircraft is extremely dangerous and I am sure there have been many more such cases.

Stern also claimed: The potential rescue operation will be carried out at night because the United States sees better in the dark than anyone else. And the point is that the pilot has to navigate at night too, and that’s not always the easiest thing to do.

After American sources and international media reported the downing of a US Air Force F-15 fighter jet in Iranian skies on Friday, a new report says two American helicopters involved in the search operation to find the pilots of the jet were hit by Iranian anti-aircraft fire.

The incident occurred while, according to the announcement of the officials of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, an advanced American fighter jet was targeted by Iranian defenses in the sky of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad provinces on Friday morning. American media later claimed that the fighter jet was an F-15E Strike Eagle (2-seater).

According to media reports, following the incident, US forces launched a massive operation to rescue the two pilots of the fighter jet on Iranian soil and found one of the two crew members. However, the fate of the second crew member remains unknown and the search for him is ongoing.
