PNN – Referring to the construction and development of Israeli settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, the United Nations Supreme Court called the presence of the Zionist regime in the occupied Palestinian territories “illegal” and demanded its end.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network from “Associated Press” news agency, the International Court of Justice consisting of 15 judges from all over the world announced: Israel has abused its position as an occupying power in the West Bank and East Jerusalem by implementing policies of territorial annexation, imposition of permanent control and settlement.
In this statement, it is stated that the Zionist regime must immediately end the construction of settlements in the occupied territories.
This report added: It is expected that the issuance of the non-binding verdict of the International Court of Justice regarding the illegality of Israel’s 57-year-old occupation (regime) in the occupied Palestinian territories will probably influence international opinion more than it will influence Israeli policies.
In the statement published by this court, it is stated: According to the ruling of this court, “the transfer of settlers by Israel to the West Bank and Jerusalem, as well as maintaining their presence by Israel, is contrary to Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention.”
The UN Supreme Court expressed “grave concern” and emphasized: Israel’s settlement policy is expanding. The ruling of this court also determined that the use of natural resources by the Zionist regime of Israel is “incompatible” with its obligations under international law as an occupying power.
