The serial resignations of the Zionist military leaders.
Al-Aqsa storm operation, like all the decisive battles of history, has caused the rise and fall of many people from the pyramid of power in the occupied territories. October 7th’s prestige blow has been so heavy and painful for the cabinet and the Zionist society that many analysts of occupied Palestine issues, referring to the interviews and comments of Israeli officials, talk about the tsunami of resignations and political settlement in the Zionist regime.
In the meantime, the illegal attack on the Iranian consulate building in Damascus and the assassination of Iran’s senior military commanders and advisors in the Shamat area caused the escalation of tension between Tehran and Tel Aviv. While the Zionist authorities, based on military-security estimates, expected the continuation of the policy of “strategic patience” from the decision-making authorities in Tehran, this wrong assessment caused the emergence of a painful response called Operation True Promise against military targets deep in the occupied territories. Aharon Haliva, the commander of the second pillar of the Israeli army, is the first-line accused of this great military failure due to the mistake in the October 7th operation and the incorrect prediction of the strength and dimensions of Tehran’s harsh response. Such a terrible mistake only after 200 days of the Al-Aqsa storm operation finally led to the resignation of Haliva, the head of Aman. Based on this, in the continuation of this note, we will try to introduce Aharon Haliva and examine the reasons for his resignation and the consequences of this decision.
Getting to know the failed Israeli commander
Major General Aharon Haliva, the 57-year-old commander, was born to Moroccan parents in the city of Haifa. The head of the Military Intelligence Department of the Israeli Army had experience working in the Technology and Logistics Department, the Tesfa Paratrooper Battalion, the 55th Brigade and the 98th Paratrooper Division, and the Operations Department in the Israeli Army. In addition, he has the experience of fighting in the battles of Lebanon and Gaza in his work record. Apart from his military records, one of the notable incidents during his tenure was the unprecedented theft of weapons from an Israeli army base in January 2021, which brought him to account before the Foreign Affairs and War Committee.
