The support of the heads of the largest British trade unions for the Gaza ceasefire’

The head of the National Union of Railway, Maritime and Transport Workers, Matt Reck, the general secretary of the Firefighters Union, and Daniel Kebed, the head of the British National Education Union, issued a joint video message on Tuesday to announce that to support peace and a cease-fire in Gaza, the pro-Palestinian demonstrations in They will participate next Saturday.

Supporters of Palestine have so far held several mass demonstrations in England and while condemning the barbaric crimes of the Zionist regime, they have expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people.

Last Saturday, according to statistics, half a million anti-Zionist activists marched in the streets of London and demanded an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. This week, according to reports, more than 100,000 people gathered in Trafalgar Square and condemned the brutal crimes committed by the Zionists in Gaza.

They plan to gather in London’s biggest park, Hyde Park, and march towards the US Embassy next Saturday. But the London authorities are against it, citing the fact that this protest movement coincides with the commemoration anniversary of the victims of the First World War.

London police have asked organizers to postpone next week’s demonstration. “The risk of violence and disorder from some groups is increasing and this is worrying ahead of an important and busy weekend in the capital,” Ade Adelekan, assistant chief of the London Police, claimed in a statement.

He added: “Our message to the organizers of Saturday’s demonstrations is clear: we ask you to reconsider quickly. “It is not appropriate to hold any protest in London this weekend.”

However, Ben Jamal, head of the Palestinian Solidarity Coalition, said that the demonstration does not interfere with the commemoration of the victims of World War I, which is being held in front of the symbolic grave near the prime minister’s office.

He stated that the police were already aware of the route of Saturday’s demonstration and called the possibility of disorder in the march of this day and the damage to the symbolic tomb as an excuse to suppress those who want a ceasefire in Gaza, contrary to the government.

This civil activist called Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and British Home Secretary Suella Braverman the main cause of this controversy, who are trying to disrupt the demonstrations of supporters of Palestine by inciting the police.

It should be noted that last Friday, the Prime Minister of England, in a letter to the Chief of Police of London, demanded more restrictions against the demonstration of supporters of Palestine on the anniversary of the commemoration of the victims of the First World War.

British interior minister described the demonstration of supporters of Palestine as hateful and the minister of justice demanded the cancellation of Saturday’s demonstration.

Since the beginning of the Gaza war, the British government has declared its full support for the Zionist regime, ignoring the killing of Palestinians. Contrary to the call of the United Nations, this country is against the establishment of an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and considers such a plan to benefit the Palestinian resistance groups.

According to IRNA, the Palestinian resistance forces on Saturday 15 October equal to 7 October 2023, in response to more than seven decades of occupation and oppression by the Zionist regime, launched a surprise operation called “Al-Aqsa storm” from Gaza (southern Palestine) against the positions of the occupation regime of Al-Quds. started and this regime has closed all crossings in the Gaza Strip and is bombing this area to retaliate and compensate for its failure and to stop the resistance operations.

In this context, the concerns of the international community about the human disaster, the brutal killing of the people of Gaza, and the requests to stop the killing machine of the Israeli regime are increasing, but this regime continues its attacks and the spokesman of the Zionist army emphasizes that there is no ceasefire issue. It is not relevant and, all the plans and plans of this regime are for more war, killing, and destruction.

The spokesperson of the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced this afternoon (Tuesday) that the number of martyrs of the brutal attacks of the Zionist regime army on the Gaza Strip has increased to 10,328 people and added: that 25,956 Palestinian citizens have also been injured during this period.
