According to the Associated Press, Taiwan’s “Gold Apollo” company, which is accused of producing the pagers that exploded in Lebanon, claims that these pagers were produced in a company based in Budapest, the capital of Hungary.
By publishing a statement, Gold Apollo Company claimed that “AR-924” model pagers are manufactured and sold by “BAC” Company. According to the company, “Gold Apollo only licenses the trademark and has no involvement in the design or manufacture of this product.”
Gold Apollo continued to confirm that it had been given a license to include the company’s trademark on the pagers that exploded in Lebanon and Syria, claiming that another company in Europe had produced them. According to Gold Apollo, the “AR-924” model pagers were produced by “BAC Consulting KFT” based in Budapest.
In a report yesterday evening, the New York Times revealed new aspects of the series of explosions of pager devices in Lebanon. According to the New York Times, knowledgeable American officials, who did not want to be named, announced in this regard: Lebanon’s Hezbollah had ordered a pager from Taiwan’s Gold Apollo Company, and Israel managed to tamper with the pagers before they entered Lebanon and some materials. Place explosives inside them.
This publication claimed the widespread distribution of these pagers among Hezbollah members throughout Lebanon and even some people related to this movement in Iran and Syria.
According to the latest report of the Ministry of Health of Lebanon, 11 people have been martyred and more than 4000 people have been injured in this series of explosions, 400 of them are in critical condition.
