Members of the United Nations voted on a non-binding resolution to establish an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip during a vote in the General Assembly on Wednesday morning.

This resolution was approved with 153 votes in favor, 10 votes against, and 23 abstentions and calls on the Zionist regime to immediately end the attacks on the Gaza Strip.

America, Austria, the Czech Republic, Guatemala, Liberia, Micronesia, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, and the Zionist regime voted against this resolution.

This is even though since the beginning of the Zionist regime’s attacks on the Gaza Strip on October 7th, the UN Security Council has failed to pass a binding resolution to establish a ceasefire in this region in numerous meetings it has held due to the obstruction of the United States.

In the latest case, on the 18th of December, the US government vetoed the Security Council’s draft resolution to establish an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, continuing its support for the Zionist regime.

The spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry also expressed regret and disappointment over the veto of the recent Security Council resolution by the United States, which called for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza.
