The US adventure in Yemen has cost a billion dollars so far.

According to Al Jazeera, CNN reported, citing informed sources, that the cost of the US military operation against the Houthis has reached about $1 billion in less than three weeks, while the attacks have had a limited impact on the Houthis’ ability to continue their attacks.

According to the report, Washington has used hundreds of millions of dollars worth of ammunition in these attacks, and given the high costs of the operation, the US military may need to request additional funding from Congress to continue the attacks in Yemen.

A Pentagon official also told CNN that it is difficult to determine the exact amount of weapons remaining in the possession of the Houthis [Ansar Allah]. Still, other sources have acknowledged that some of their positions have been destroyed in these attacks, but this has not significantly affected their ability to continue the attacks in the Red Sea.

US officials have also confirmed that the Houthis [Ansar Allah] are still able to strengthen their positions and store weapons underground.

According to CNN sources, the Houthis [Ansar Allah] have shot down two advanced American MQ-9 drones since the start of the current attacks.

CNN also reported, citing informed sources, Some US military officials are complaining about the extensive use of long-range weapons in the attack on Yemen.

According to the report, some US officials have expressed dissatisfaction with the use of certain weapons in this operation because these weapons are of great importance for a possible war with China.

Also, some US military personnel are concerned that the continuation of attacks in Yemen will negatively affect the readiness of the US military in the Indo-Pacific region.
