The US aims to dominate Latin America by kidnapping Maduro.

Jamal Wakim, a professor of international relations, said in an interview with Al-Manar Network regarding the events in Venezuela and the kidnapping of Nicolas Maduro by the United States: “There is no such thing as international law; international law is a scarecrow that Westerners invented to justify their actions and ignore it whenever they want.”

He added: “Where was international law during the invasion of Panama in 1989 and the kidnapping of Manuel Noriega, the country’s president? Where was international law during the invasion of Iraq in 2003? Where was international law during the invasion of Iran and the targeting of its military commanders? We have a country that was founded on theft and plunder from the very first day of its history, and that is the United States.”

He noted that the United States targeted the Fordow nuclear facility and attacked Afghanistan without any international justification.

Wakim emphasized that Venezuela was neither a producer nor an exporter of drugs even before the regime of Simon Bolivar. Still, now they are slandering Maduro to justify their actions, just as they can slander anyone else.

The university professor added: Who has made America the attorney to implement international law in the world and dominate the world? Donald Trump himself is accused of moral issues in America. America raises the issue of national security, but its main goal is to regain dominance in Latin America. America’s goal is to dominate the resources of these countries.

He noted that all countries affected by America must unite; we have already witnessed cooperation between Venezuela and Iran, but this is not enough. In the first stage, China must feel threatened by these events because they will affect the issue of oil imports.

The university professor continued, regarding the kidnapping of Nicolas Maduro, saying that some sources say that an armed group was purchased from within the Venezuelan army and actually kidnapped Maduro and handed it over to the United States. Of course, the Venezuelan government should have resisted and not been affected by this, as happened a few months ago in Iran, where a large number of senior Iranian commanders were assassinated, but Iran was able to overcome this event and not be affected by it, and other commanders quickly replaced the martyred commanders.

According to IRNA, the United States attacked Venezuela on Saturday morning (January 13, 1404) in an action that has been met with a wave of international reactions. The media reported that explosions were heard and columns of smoke were seen in Caracas and several other states, and Trump also confirmed the role of the United States by issuing a message.

In this attack, which was carried out on the orders of President Donald Trump, the United States kidnapped Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, contrary to international law.

The Venezuelan government called this action a “military invasion” and, while declaring a state of emergency, called for an urgent meeting of the United Nations Security Council.

At the same time, several countries, including some US allies, have cautiously emphasized the importance of respecting the principles of international law and the UN Charter. Iran, Russia, and several other countries have also condemned Washington’s action and warned of its consequences for regional stability and the international system.
