The US Secret Service admits to opposing the increase of Trump’s bodyguards’
According to CNN, the spokesperson of the US Secret Service admitted that in the last two years, this organization has not provided enough guards and resources for the protection team of Donald Trump, the former president of this country!
This statement was issued while speculations about the security measures surrounding Trump after his failed assassination on Sunday last week have increased. What emerges from the reports, the important question from the US Secret Service is how a sniper managed to access the roof of a building about 150 meters away from Trump’s speech at his election rally in Pennsylvania!
The Washington Post and New York Times have previously reported that the Secret Service has rejected requests by Trump’s security team over the past two years to beef up security measures and increase human resources.
Some of Trump’s relatives claim that the decisions related to this issue, which according to them were personal and related to Trump, were made by senior Secret Service officials!
According to several sources familiar with the matter, although Trump always maintains close and friendly relations with members of the US Secret Service, the relations between these agents and their superiors in this security organization have been strained for some time.
Anthony Guglielmi, head of the US Secret Service’s communications division, wrote in a statement in response to CNN’s question about whether the agency had denied the request of Trump’s security team: “In some cases where specially trained units or Secret Service resources are not available, the Secret Service uses Some modifications and changes ensure the security of the intended person.
These amendments include the use of state or local partners to provide special measures or identify alternatives to reduce public access to the protected person.
This statement comes while Guglielmi claimed yesterday that reports about the Secret Service’s opposition to Trump’s security team’s request to allocate more resources to intensify security measures during the Pennsylvania gathering are not true!
Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, shot the Republican presidential candidate in November last Sunday with a semi-automatic weapon from the roof of a warehouse near Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Strangely, the bullet passed through Trump’s right ear, and after Trump was transferred to a safe area, the American Secret Service sniper killed the assailant. In this incident, one person present in the gathering was killed and two others were seriously injured.
