The war against Gaza and the sanctions that affected big companies

PNN – The world-wide embargo on the goods and services of commercial companies supporting the Zionist regime, following the regime’s aggressive war against the Gaza Strip, has forced these companies to adjust and fire their personnel.

According to Pakistan News Network’s report on Wednesday, quoting from Al Jazeera network, Kuwait’s large “Al Shaye” business group and the owner of the Starbucks brand franchise in the Middle East plans to lay off 2,000 of its employees due to the damages caused by the sanctions.

Some sources announced: The retrenchment of Al-Shaya Group, which started last Sunday, will include 4% of the company’s workforce, which has about 50,000 employees.

The layoffs will include Starbucks branches in the Middle East and North Africa.

These sources added: The boycott by consumers and customers (due to Starbucks’ support of the Zionist regime) has created problems for this company.

“Al-Shaya” group of Kuwait, representative of many global companies and brands such as (Starbucks), (H&M), (Mothercare), (Bath & Body), (Nex), (American Eagle), (Claires), (Foot Locker) and (MAC).

International companies supporting the Zionist regime’s aggression on the Gaza Strip and companies that send their products and aid to the occupied Palestinian territories have faced widespread boycotts by consumers and customers around the world after the Gaza war.

A number of these companies, especially those active in the Middle East, have faced income and budget crises due to sanctions.

On October 7, 2023, the Palestinian resistance groups launched the “Al-Aqsa Storm” operation from Gaza against the positions of the Israeli regime, and finally (November 24, 2023), a four-day temporary ceasefire was established, or the pause for the exchange of prisoners between Hamas and the Zionist regime.

This pause in the war continued for seven days and finally on Friday morning (December 1, 2023) the temporary ceasefire ended and the Israeli regime resumed attacks against Gaza.

In order to retaliate against the “Al-Aqsa Storm” attacks, compensate for its defeat and stop the resistance operations, this regime has closed the crossings of the Gaza Strip and is bombarding this area.

On the other hand, the Palestinian resistance fighters have caused a lot of casualties and damage to this regime in their full-scale battle with the Zionist army in the last 152 days.
