The wave of world leaders’ criticism of the Zionist regime and the United States at the UN General Assembly meeting

PNN – The heads of different countries of the world, who gathered to participate in the UN General Assembly meeting in New York, in their speeches, raised harsh criticisms against Israel and its crimes in Gaza and America’s support.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network from Politico magazine, yesterday, a number of world leaders strongly condemned the policies of Israel and then the United States at the same time as the United Nations General Assembly meeting was held in New York on the eve of the one year anniversary of the Gaza war.

Politico considered this sharp reaction of world leaders as a reflection of the frustration of the conflicting parties’ reluctance to establish a ceasefire. At the same time, many expressed their frustration with the helplessness of institutions like the United Nations to establish peace.

According to this American publication, almost all world leaders who gave speeches yesterday called for an end to the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, as well as the violent conflicts between Israel and Lebanon.

In addition to the leaders of the Arab and Middle East countries who condemned Israel’s attacks in their speech yesterday at the UN General Assembly, some other countries that usually avoid this issue were also present; including Latin American and African countries.

The sharp reaction of the world leaders against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was also strong; in such a way that Turkish President Recep Tayyip ErdoÄŸan compared him to Adolf Hitler and suggested that other countries should unite and stop the Israelis by force if necessary.

Colombian President Gustavo Petro also called the ongoing violence in Gaza genocide against the Palestinians. He also used expressions such as war crimes and settler colonialism in his speech.

Brazilian President Lula da Silva and the first speaker of the General Assembly said: What started as a terrorist act turned into collective punishment for the entire Palestinian people.” The right to defend has turned into the right to revenge.

In the meantime, many criticisms were directed at the United States, although world leaders rarely mentioned the United States directly.

Including the President of Colombia who said: “Presidents of destructive countries laugh in these corridors. When Gaza dies, humanity will die. It seems that God’s people were not Israel. These are not the people of America.”

Irish Prime Minister Simon Harris also told reporters: Many came to the United Nations in the hope that he could work behind the scenes to reduce tension. But we are witnessing the escalation of conflicts hourly and on a wide scale.

King Abdullah II of Jordan also highlighted Israel’s attacks on UN shelters and schools in Gaza and how UN aid trucks have failed to deliver food to Palestinians.

He added: The unprecedented level of killing in Gaza since [October 7] is beyond any justification. We will never accept the forced displacement of Palestinians, which is a war crime.

Politico further points out that this is not the first time that Israel faces widespread criticism at the United Nations. Its representatives have spent a lot of time attacking the institution over the past year.
