The White House: Hamas still has important capabilities in Gaza.

A spokesman for the National Security Council at the White House said on Thursday evening that, while supporting the Zionist regime’s attack on Beirut to assassinate “Saleh al-Arouri,” deputy head of the political office of the Hamas movement, claimed that the United States was not involved in this attack.

John Kirby, the strategic communications coordinator at the National Security Council, said Thursday night that Hamas still has significant military capabilities in the Gaza Strip.

Kirby said during a press conference at the White House: “We will work to maintain the US military presence in the Middle East. President [Joe] Biden must continue to receive information about the situation in the Middle East.”

According to the Al Jazeera website, he explained that the United States does not want the war between the Zionist regime and Hamas to spread to the West Asia region, saying: “Negotiations for the release of hostages from Gaza are ongoing and are being taken seriously.”

About Hamas, the White House official stated: “Hamas still has significant capabilities in the Gaza Strip. We do not believe that a military attack will eliminate Hamas thinking, and we accept the idea that Hamas will continue its existence.”

According to the report, Kirby claimed that “Saleh al-Arouri,” the deputy head of the political office of the Hamas movement, was classified as a “designated terrorist,” and said: “No one should cry for his death. Israel has the right to eliminate any threat to its people’s security, but we had nothing to do with the attack in Beirut.”

He also claimed about the terrorist explosions on Thursday in Kerman: “We have no details about who is behind the bombings in Iran, and there is no evidence of Israel’s involvement in the recent explosion.”

The spokesperson for the National Security Council at the White House added: “We believe that the Israeli army can weaken Hamas’s ability to attack inside Israel.”

Earlier, the US State Department had claimed that Washington had no role in the terrorist bombings in Kerman and that there was no reason to believe that the Zionist regime was behind them.
