The wishes of the children of Gaza on the eve of the new year.

The wishes of the children of Gaza on the eve of the new year.

The freedom of Palestine and the cessation of bombings. One wishes to return to his home because he remembers his martyr father in every corner of it, another brings the wish of the freedom of Palestine to his lips, another who has been wounded wants to be able to see and walk again, a child who doesn’t sleep at night because of the sound of bombings wishes for the war to end and no longer be afraid.

Only one day left until the start of the new Gregorian year and today marks 85 days of unsafe air and ground attacks by the Zionist regime on the Gaza Strip. A war that has so far left 21110 martyrs and 55243 wounded, most of whom are women and children.

A reporter for the Al-Quds Al-Arabi newspaper has gone to various areas of the Gaza Strip to write about the wishes of Palestinian refugee children on the eve of the new Gregorian year.

“Ghaliyah Al-Beik” from the Jabalia camp says: “I wish the sound of bombing would stop. I am really scared and trembling at night and can’t sleep until morning. I just want to stop being afraid. My heart beats strongly from the sound of the bombing. I’m afraid that after my father’s martyrdom, I will lose one of my brothers or my mother… I’m just a child who wants her childhood.”

“Abdul Sami Al-Khaldi” (11 years old) from the city of Rafah says: “I want to know about my uncle’s condition, he is in Beit Hanoun and we haven’t heard from him for two months. I love him very much and I want to know if he is okay and not injured. I was always with my cousins during the holidays, they used to come to us in Rafah, and we would play in front of the house with bicycles and be happy with the sweets that my aunt made. I miss those moments. Why can’t I live a normal life because of the occupation?”
