The Zionist “Humanitarian City” Plan: From Displacement in Gaza to Blackmailing.
Last Monday, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced the existence of this plan, which includes setting up tents on the ruins of the city of Rafah. This alleged city is to be established between the Philadelphia axis on the border with Egypt and the Morag axis between Khan Yunis and Rafah in the south of the Gaza Strip. In the next stage, all Gaza residents will gather here to prepare for their mass displacement outside Gaza.
Informed sources report that this Israeli plan is essentially based on previous plans, such as the Generals’ plan or Gideon’s Chariots, which aimed to evacuate one million people from the northern Gaza Strip and transfer them to the center and south of the strip. The plans presented by the Israeli negotiating team in Doha for the withdrawal of the regime’s army from Gaza during the ceasefire period are a kind of redeployment of Israeli forces in Gaza, not a withdrawal from it; so that the entire city of Rafah and more than 40 percent of the area of Gaza will remain under Israeli military occupation.
These movements of the occupiers indicate their intention to implement the plan to expel the people of Gaza to Egypt and other countries. According to the maps presented by the Zionist delegation, the occupiers will advance to a depth of 3 kilometers in some areas of Gaza, and large parts of the city of Beit Lahia, the village of Umm al-Nasr, and Beit Hanoun in the north of the Gaza Strip, as well as the entire Khuza’a area east of Khan Yunis in the south of Gaza, part of Al-Saka Street in the areas of Al-Tuffah, as well as Al-Shuja’iya and Al-Zaytoun in the east of Gaza City will remain under Zionist occupation.
These maps will occupy 40 percent of the area of Gaza, preventing the return of about 700,000 Palestinians to their homes and driving them towards displacement centers in southern Gaza. A large number of Palestinians will also remain in the Al-Mawasi area in the south of the Gaza Strip.
In the meantime, we should note that most of the area of Rafah city has been completely razed to the ground since the occupation forces invaded the city on May 7, 2024, and the occupation forces did not withdraw from there in the January ceasefire agreement. Meanwhile, the Zionist army is carrying out systematic demolition operations in areas in the northern Gaza Strip to make these areas uninhabitable, just like it is doing in Khan Yunis.
