The Zionist regime failed to break the will of the “resistance” / We will take the case of crimes against journalists to The Hague.
Azar Mahdwan, Yasser Al-Masri: Finally, after 15 months of killing the people of Gaza, the Zionist regime, which had been aiming to defeat Hamas and completely control the strip, was forced to sign a ceasefire agreement.
The ceasefire agreement, which came into effect this morning (Sunday), is seen as a symbol of the resistance of the Palestinian people, an opportunity to end the conflicts and begin humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.
Mehr News Agency interviewed Dr. Ismail Thawabat, Director General of the Information Office of the Gaza Government, regarding the situation after the ceasefire, the written text of which follows:
After 15 months of resistance in Gaza, the Zionist regime was finally forced to accept the ceasefire. With the implementation of this agreement, the process of rebuilding Gaza must now begin again. Which parts of Gaza need reconstruction more quickly?
The priorities for reconstruction after the ceasefire include the reconstruction of basic infrastructure that has been severely damaged, such as water, electricity, and sewage networks. Efforts to provide shelter for all Palestinian families whose homes have been destroyed by the occupation regime will also be a priority so that Palestinian families can be reunited as soon as possible. In addition, plans have been made to build schools and hospitals to ensure the continuity of education and health services.
What is the situation at the borders? Will humanitarian aid enter the Gaza Strip?
With the implementation of the agreement, it is expected that border restrictions will be eased to allow humanitarian aid to enter the Gaza Strip. The Palestinian government in Gaza, in coordination with international organizations, will strive to provide food, medicine and construction materials necessary for reconstruction and alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people.
According to one of the provisions of the agreement, residents of northern Gaza who were forced to leave their homes will be able to return. What is the current situation of houses and service sectors in northern Gaza?
Houses and residential units in various areas of the Gaza Strip, especially in the north, have been severely damaged. However, plans have been drawn up for the rapid reconstruction of what can be restored. Basic services such as electricity and water are gradually being restored and infrastructure is being improved so that normal life can resume for the Palestinian people with the cooperation of international organizations.
The Zionist regime entered into a long war hoping to crush the resistance and completely dominate Gaza, but according to the provisions of the agreement, the real winner of this war was the Palestinian people. What do you think?
Despite the siege, the long aggression, and the widespread destruction, the Palestinian resistance was able to prove its resilience and force the occupying regime to sign a ceasefire agreement with conditions that preserved the rights of the Palestinian people. This agreement is seen as a victory for the Palestinian people because it shows the regime’s failure to achieve its goals of dominating Gaza and breaking the will of the resistance.
We know very well that the siege of Gaza is not for today or yesterday, many restrictions were imposed on the residents of the Gaza Strip before the Gaza war. How hopeful are you that the provisions of this agreement will be implemented?
Given international pressure and the conditions on the ground, it is expected that the agreement will be implemented to an acceptable extent, especially in terms of easing the siege, the arrival of various aid, and the start of reconstruction. We will work to monitor the implementation of the provisions of the agreement and ensure that the Palestinian people fully benefit from it.
