PNN – Palestinian media sources report intensified efforts by the Israeli regime’s intelligence units to recruit spies from the Gaza Strip.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Quds News Agency wrote that the Gaza war has become a conflict extending beyond the battlefield and armaments into cyberspace and the spying on civilians’ daily lives. In this context, the report revealed online campaigns in Gaza recruiting people to join the Israeli army’s Unit 504 in exchange for food and security.
Unit 504 has operated for decades in human intelligence (HUMINT) collection by recruiting and enlisting spy elements. The unit exploits people’s financial needs or psychological and material vulnerabilities to trap them.

The activities of this intelligence unit in Gaza during and after the recent war include:
- Collecting detailed information about Gaza residents, their locations, relatives, and conditions.
- Recruiting young people for direct contact with intelligence officers or through alleged intermediaries.
- Creating virtual dossiers that are later used for blackmail, pressure, or infiltration.
- Spreading narratives that sow doubt and fear within the Palestinian community to undermine people’s resilience.
How do the Zionist advertising and espionage campaigns operate?
The process begins with creating pages that appear local. They use Gaza’s everyday language, images of the on-the-ground reality, and slogans that claim human sympathy. These pages are financed to reach users inside the Gaza Strip.
After people in Gaza interact with these channels, private messages are sent via Facebook, WhatsApp, or Telegram asking them to provide information desired by the Israelis in order to receive assistance.
In this process, every message, photo, phone number, or address submitted is fed into a specialized Israeli intelligence analysis system that specializes in building human and social maps of the Gaza Strip.
The danger of this unit is not only in information disclosure but also in the psychological and social impact on the people of Gaza. They try to instill a sense of helplessness and promote the idea that salvation from the war is possible only through cooperation with the occupiers. In reality, they seek to create divisions within Gazan society.
