PNN – Israel’s defense minister has said that Tel Aviv will not consider itself bound by a new UN Security Council draft resolution even before it is put to a vote.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz wrote on X that Israel will not allow the establishment of a Palestinian state.

He reiterated the need to disarm Palestinian resistance groups and said Gaza would be fully demilitarized “down to the last tunnel.” He added that Hamas would be disarmed in the “yellow zone” by Israeli forces, and in the area of old Gaza either by international forces or by the Israeli army.

Israel’s i24 News reported that amendments made to the U.S.-drafted proposal for a Gaza ceasefire include explicit support for establishing a Palestinian state — a point that has deepened tensions between Tel Aviv and Washington.

The UN Security Council is scheduled to review the U.S. proposal for Gaza on Monday. In an effort to win the support of Arab and Islamic countries, Washington has added provisions to the draft that aim to pave the way for the creation of a Palestinian state.
