Tight competition; Biden is currently ahead of Trump in most polls

PNN – Just seven months before the US presidential election, current Democratic President Joe Biden has now surpassed his Republican rival Donald Trump in most recent polls.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Last month, it was confirmed that both current and former US presidents will face each other in November. And both Biden and Trump would need to win enough delegate votes to secure their respective parties’ presidential nominations and enter a runoff for the 2024 election.

Since then, predictions and polls have weighed in on who will come out on top. So far, the polls have been almost evenly matched, and analysts say the race between Biden and Trump will be very close.

The American publication Newsweek wrote about this: While this situation continues, it seems that the polls are in favor of Biden. The Democratic president is projected to win the popular vote in eight of the last twelve polls added to the website RacetotheWH, which tracks polling averages.

In the most recent poll conducted by Reuters and Ipsos, Democrat Biden won 41 percent of the vote, while Republican Trump won 37 percent. Ipsos polled 833 registered voters between April 5 and 9.

In another poll of 1,265 participants conducted between April 3 and 5 by IBD/TIPP, Biden won more votes by 3 percentage points, 43 percent to 40 percent.

Meanwhile, the Markit poll of 674 people, conducted between March 18 and March 28, showed Biden with 52 percent of the vote and Trump with 48 percent.

However, other polls suggest that Trump may have more supporters on Election Day. A poll of 6,237 voters by the Morning Consult predicted that Trump would win 44 percent of the vote, compared to Biden’s 43 percent.

Despite these polls, experts and analysts believe that the election competition between Biden and Trump is very close and it is difficult to draw conclusions from now.

Despite the apparently positive polling for Biden, Christopher Phelps, a professor of modern American history at the University of Nottingham in England, told Newsweek that the race was “too close to draw conclusions.”

He said: “Despite the large number of polls, it is difficult to determine the superiority of the parties. In this way, the highest priority should not be given to national polls, but polls that target specific states should be considered.” Elections are very important for the Electoral Commission.

These polls do not have a clear consensus. The Wall Street Journal has just published a poll showing that Biden has lost all but one of the eight critical states in the race against Trump.

“By any measure, the race is very close in this short period of time. And there are a lot of possibilities left. Are voters going to believe that the economy is improving? Will the situation in Israel and Gaza be somewhat resolved? How much do voters prioritize immigration?

Americans will go to the polls on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 to elect the next president of the United States. The winner of this election will start the four-year presidential term from January 2025.
