TikTok returns to the US on Trump’s orders after about 12 hours of ban.

According to the Associated Press, the social network TikTok, which announced yesterday that it was banned from operating in the United States, has resumed its activities in the country and attributed its return to the action of US President-elect Donald Trump. This is while Trump is officially returning to the White House today by attending the inauguration ceremony.

In the welcome message that TikTok sent to its users in the United States, it states: We appreciate your patience and support. Thanks to the efforts of President Trump, TikTok is back in the United States!

Trump previously announced in a message on his social network called “Truth Social” that he intends to give the social network, whose parent company is based in China, more time on his first day in office (today, Monday, January 20) to find a confirmed buyer before the full ban on the network’s activities in the United States is implemented.

TikTok was blocked nationwide on Saturday evening by the US Supreme Court, sending a message to the network’s approximately 170 million users saying, “Unfortunately, the TikTok ban has been implemented in the United States, meaning you cannot use TikTok right now.”

Trump had previously said he might delay the TikTok ban for 90 days after taking office. TikTok is the most popular social network in the US. The social network has been accused of flouting US laws and making pornographic content available to children and teenagers. US lawmakers have also deemed TikTok a threat to US national security.
