PNN – A political activist in Syria reported the very poor physical condition of the country’s former mufti due to torture by Golani elements.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Al-Ma’uluma, Mahmoud Mawadi, an official of the Syrian National Liberation Party, announced that Sheikh Ahmed Badreddin Hassoun, the country’s former Mufti, who was arrested by elements affiliated with the self-proclaimed Syrian president, Abu Muhammad al-Julani, is not in good physical condition.

He added that these unfavorable physical conditions were caused by the torture of Sheikh Hassoun during his detention by Golani elements.

Mawlid stated that Sheikh Hassoun has currently been transferred to a house in Syria, away from the media cameras, and is in very poor physical condition.

It should be noted that he was arrested by Golani elements a few months ago. However, the legal reasons for Sheikh Hassoun’s arrest are unclear, as he served as the Mufti of the former Syrian government and did not hold a military or executive position.
