PNN – The Iraqi government announced the transfer of 450 ISIS members, including a number of leaders, from Syria to Iraq.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Sunday that 450 members of the ISIS terrorist group who were transferred from Syria will be referred to courts if proven to have been involved in crimes, and the rest will be sent to rehabilitation centers.
According to the Iraqi state news agency “Waa'”, Iraqi Deputy Foreign Minister Hisham Al-Alawi stated that some of the transferred individuals were Iraqis and that the process of transferring them was expedited, those who had committed crimes were prosecuted, and the rest were transferred to rehabilitation centers.
He added: The prisoners are of foreign nationalities and from more than 40 countries, and Iraq called on these countries to assume their responsibilities towards their citizens.
Al-Alawi noted that Iraq has already repatriated around 2,000 Iraqi ISIS members from Syria, and that other countries are responsible for repatriating their own citizens before any further transfers.
