Trump made this claim during a dinner with lawmakers at the White House, praising the efforts of Steve Whittaker, the special envoy for West Asia.
Israeli and Hamas negotiators have been holding the latest round of ceasefire talks in Doha, the capital of Qatar, since July 6, discussing the US proposal for a 60-day ceasefire, the release of 10 Israeli prisoners, and the return of the bodies of 18 others.
Trump claimed in this regard: We have taken back most of the hostages. We plan to take back 10 more soon, and I hope to finalize it quickly.
