Trump accused Ukraine of starting a war with Russia!
According to Reuters, US President Donald Trump said that Ukraine “should not have started a war with Russia”!
In a press conference at his mansion in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, Trump called it “possible” in response to a question about the possibility of meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin before the end of this month.
These are Trump’s first comments after sending a US diplomatic delegation to Riyadh to negotiate with Russian counterparts to resolve the war in Ukraine.
Rejecting Ukrainian concerns about not being invited to these talks, he said that Kyiv could have agreed with Russia three years ago.
The US president said: “I heard they said ‘we were not invited’; you had three years of this opportunity and you should have finished it. You should not have started it (the war) in the first place. You could have agreed.
In response to Trump’s comments, former US President Joe Biden’s National Security Council spokesman, Sean Sawet, wrote on social media: “Trump seems to be completely caught in Putin’s trap. Just so you know; Putin started and invaded an unjustified war against Ukraine, and his forces committed war crimes against the Ukrainian people. Russia is responsible for the continuation of this war.”
Trump also criticized Biden for his mismanagement of Ukraine, saying: “I think I have the power to end this war.”
He went on to say that Ukraine should hold elections. According to him, if the Europeans want to send peacekeepers to Ukraine, he will not object.
