Trump administration revokes visas of 4 foreign students at Columbia University.

According to Anadolu Agency, according to the Columbia Daily Spectator, the US Department of Homeland Security has revoked the visas of four foreign students at Columbia University for participating in pro-Palestinian protests.

Announcing the news, Columbia University President Anne Jela Olinto claimed that she “does not know when the visas of these students were revoked”!

According to her, Columbia University learned of the revocation of their visas through daily checks of the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) and the administration of US President Donald Trump did not inform them.

She also referred to various reports that the US Department of Homeland Security has targeted students for participating in pro-Palestinian protests or even minor criminal offenses, denying them entry visas and directly telling them to leave the country immediately.

Minnesota State University also announced last week that the visas of five foreign students at the university had been revoked for unspecified reasons.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced on March 27 that the department had revoked the visas of more than 300 students for inappropriate social activities on campus. “We gave you visas to study and get a degree, not to become civil activists and tear up our campuses,” he said. “If we gave you a visa and you decided to do that, we would revoke the visa.”
