Previously, the Guardian newspaper reported that Ukraine had managed to amend the US peace plan, removing some unacceptable demands and reducing the number of its clauses from 28 to 19.
Last week, it was reported that Washington had presented a 28-point peace initiative, which was met with reaction and criticism from some of Kyiv’s partners in Europe. On November 13, the United States and Ukraine held consultations on Washington’s peace plan in Geneva.
According to Ukrainian media reports, the American and Ukrainian delegations have agreed on most of the points of the plan. The remaining issues are scheduled to be discussed at a meeting between the US President and his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Tuesday that Russia considers the initial Ukrainian peace plan “reasonable” and assessed it as “a suitable basis for negotiations.”
