The US President, referring to the recent operation which, according to him, led to a change in Venezuela’s leadership, claimed that Washington’s intervention in this country is aimed at reconstruction and establishing stability.

Trump further added that the overthrow of Maduro was accomplished without the help of his inner circle.

He noted: The transitional phase in Venezuela may last 18 months.

American forces, in an action contrary to international laws, attacked Venezuela on Saturday, abducted Nicolas Maduro, the President of the country, and transferred him to US soil.

This unprecedented action by Washington has also provoked global reactions; some Western governments have described it as an action in line with combating corruption and drug trafficking, while other countries and groups opposed to foreign intervention have evaluated it as a violation of national sovereignty and international laws.
