PNN – The U.S. President has accused the BBC of deceit and declared his intention to pursue legal action against the news organization.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, U.S. President Donald Trump stated in an interview with Fox News that the BBC had misled the public and that he considered it his duty to take legal action.

He reiterated his threat to file a one-billion-dollar lawsuit against the BBC, saying: I consider it my obligation to do this. They deceived the public, and they have admitted it themselves. It is unfortunate that such an incident has occurred in one of our allied countries.

The American president added that the BBC had altered his January 6 speech, portraying what was actually a “beautiful and calming” address as something “radical and provocative.”

Tim Davie, the BBC’s Director-General, resigned on Sunday following criticism over the editing of Trump’s speech delivered before the attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021. The speech had been edited in an episode of the Panorama program, which aired last year just before the 2024 presidential election.

In a legal letter sent by Trump’s attorney, Alejandro Brito, the BBC has been asked to immediately retract its false statements about the U.S. President.

The letter warns that if the BBC fails to comply, the President will have no choice but to pursue legal action to defend his rights, potentially seeking at least one billion dollars in damages.
