Trump: Incompetent politicians are unable to control the fire; death is everywhere!
According to the New York Times, US President-elect Donald Trump, in a message on his social network called “Truth Social”, called the devastating fires in Southern California “one of the worst disasters in the history of the country” and criticized officials for their inability to control the fire.
Trump wrote that the fire in Los Angeles continues to rage and went on to condemn the lack of effective action. He described the fire as a “devastating event” for the United States, expressing concern about the destruction of thousands of homes and the deaths.
According to the latest reports, at least 16 people have lost their lives in the deadly fires in California so far and at least 12,000 buildings have been destroyed.
Trump wrote: “Thousands of magnificent homes have been lost and many more will soon suffer a similar fate. Death is everywhere. This is one of the worst disasters in the history of our country. They are unable to control the fire; what a death they have become!” The fire is still raging in Los Angeles. Incompetent politicians have no idea how to put it out.
An estimated 200,000 people have been left homeless and more than 16,000 acres of land have been burned.
Although Trump did not name any specific politician in his message, his comments suggest that the fire and the response to it will likely be high on his domestic policy agenda after his inauguration on January 20. In the message, he has escalated his long-standing feud with California Governor Gavin Newsom, who has accused Trump of politicizing the California wildfires!
According to a report by Ecuador, estimates suggest that the damage from the massive fires will exceed $50 billion, making it likely the costliest disaster in California history.
