Trump orders: Attack on Qatar is a security threat to the US.
The Axios website wrote today (Wednesday) that Donald Trump signed an executive order on Monday that raises the level of Washington’s commitment to Qatar’s security as part of an initiative to end the war in Gaza and compensate Qatar for the Israeli attack on Doha.
According to Axios, this is an unprecedented security agreement between the United States and an Arab country.
According to the executive order published today, the United States considers any armed attack on the territory, sovereignty, or critical infrastructure of the State of Qatar to be a threat to the peace and security of the United States.
The order states: In the event of an attack, the United States will take all appropriate and lawful measures, including diplomatic, economic, and, if necessary, military, to protect the interests of Washington and Qatar to restore peace and stability.
This news comes as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with the US President at the White House on Monday, during which he apologized to the Emir of Qatar over the phone for the airstrike on Doha and the residence of Hamas leaders.
