Foreign Policy: America’s global role should be reduced

During the US presence in Afghanistan, Bagram Air Base was one of the largest and most important military bases in the region, used for air and logistical operations in Afghanistan and the region.

Trump also mentioned the Ukraine crisis in the conversation, saying he had “disappointed” Putin in resolving the Ukrainian crisis.

He added that the United States must learn from past mistakes in its foreign policy and continue to rebuild its strategic relationships globally, including in Afghanistan.

The US president also stressed the importance of countering Chinese threats in the region, especially since the Bagram base is located near areas where China is actively developing nuclear and military weapons.

Bagram Air Base, located north of Kabul, Afghanistan, was one of the main air operations and logistics centers for coalition forces in Afghanistan. The base played a vital role in supporting NATO and American forces in combat and counterterrorism operations. After the withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan in 2021, the Taliban took control of the base.

During his presidency in the United States, Trump repeatedly emphasized the importance of rebuilding US military power in the region and confronting global threats, including China and Russia.
