PNN – US President Donald Trump has signed a series of executive orders aimed primarily at rebuilding and restructuring the country’s Department of Education.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, CNN news network added on Thursday local time: The orders came a week after the Trump administration announced it was freezing $2.2 billion in funding for Harvard University, sparking a major conflict over academic freedom, federal funding and university oversight.
Trump’s executive orders on education in the United States are as follows:
Strengthening artificial intelligence in American education:
Trump signed an executive order to ensure that schools train students in the use of artificial intelligence.
This executive order ensures that institutions properly train American children and youth in AI tools so they can compete in a more AI-savvy economy.

Foreign gifts to American universities:
The order “obligates” departments and agencies across the government to “enforce laws regarding foreign gifts to American universities.”
University Accreditation:
A White House official told CNN: The order requires the U.S. Secretary of Education to hold higher education accreditors accountable for poor performance or violations of federal civil rights law, through denial, monitoring, suspension, or dismissal.
Education Secretary Linda McMahon touted the idea of universities being “meritorious,” a theme the White House often references when trying to target diversity, equity, and inclusion in education and the workforce.
Historically Black Universities Initiative:
The order implements a White House initiative regarding Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
During Trump’s first term, relations with HBCUs were sometimes shaky, and Trump’s own views on funding these institutions were contradictory.
