Mocking European leaders, Trump stated: “I think European leaders are weak,” and continued, I place great importance on the role of European leaders in trying to end the war. They talk, but achieve nothing, and the war goes on forever. Putin also likes to see weak Europeans, and that is exactly what he sees. This has nothing to do with me. I want to see strong Europeans.
Referring to his support for far-right figures in European elections, Trump said: Yes, I have supported people in Europe that Europeans do not like. I have supported Viktor Orbán [Hungarian Prime Minister, anti-EU].
He also commented on developments in Venezuela and the U.S. military presence near Venezuelan coasts, claiming that the final days of Nicolás Maduro [President of Venezuela] are near.
Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro announced on Monday that his country plans to strengthen its defense capabilities next year under a vision called “Plan 2026.” Challenging recent U.S. threats, he stated on a local television network that his government intends to introduce new strategies to enhance the country’s defense capabilities in the upcoming year.
Maduro emphasized that these decisions were made following a meeting with senior government officials. He said U.S. military movements in the Caribbean pose a threat to Venezuela, which is one of the main reasons for increased investment in defense.
Under “Plan 2026,” Venezuela aims to strengthen its capacities in security and defense, communication policies, and social organization.
Meanwhile, Venezuelan Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino López announced that recent threats have pushed the country toward developing new strategies and rebuilding internal paramilitary forces. He added that the Venezuelan Navy is increasing readiness and vigilance daily, prepared to respond to any attack targeting the country.
Washington recently announced the deployment of warships and a submarine to Venezuelan waters. U.S. Secretary of the Army Pete Hegseth stated that the military is ready for operations aimed at regime change in Venezuela.
In response, Maduro announced the mobilization of 4.5 million Venezuelan personnel nationwide, preparing to counter any potential attacks.
