PNN – The US president says Ukraine must “stop at the lines” and end the war with Russia.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Anadolu Agency, US President Donald Trump believes that Ukraine should “stop at the lines of confrontation” and end the war with Russia, accepting the current territorial conditions as the basis for future negotiations.
Returning to Washington, Trump told reporters that he had a “friendly” meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday and denied reports that he had urged Kiev to cede the entire Donbas region to Moscow.

The US president added that in the Donbas region, “Russia has seized 87 percent of the territory” and that Ukraine could “negotiate something later as we move forward,” but an immediate end to the war was the priority.
The Donbas region, which includes Donetsk and Luhansk, has been at the center of war since 2014. Following Russia’s annexation of Crimea that year, Moscow’s forces expanded their control over much of the region, launching a special military operation in February 2022.
Moscow has repeatedly stressed that the special military operation in Ukraine will end when all its goals are achieved. According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, these goals can be achieved through special military operations or negotiations. Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced the goals of the operation, which include disarming and denazifying Ukraine, establishing the country’s neutrality, and recognizing the realities on the ground.
The Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, as well as the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, joined Russia after referenda held from September 23 to 27, 2022. Ownership of Crimea and Sevastopol also returned to Russia after a referendum held in March 2014, following the coup in Ukraine.
