According to Fox News, US President Donald Trump claimed: Stop sending members of the ‘Tren de Aragua’ to the United States. Stop sending drugs to the United States!
The US President continued: “We hit 3 Venezuelan boats, not 2; but you saw 2 boats. The problem is that your boats are in the water; they are not allowed. I can’t imagine anyone wanting to do anything about fishing! They are not fishing boats.
Washington deployed US Navy destroyers (USS Gravely, USS Jason Dunham and USS Sampson) to the Venezuelan coast in late August.
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro responded by saying he had mobilized 4.5 million people in a paramilitary force across the country, ready to confront any attack.
Venezuelan Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino Lopez previously said the US had conducted aerial reconnaissance missions in the Caribbean and areas near Venezuela. US Defense Secretary Pete Hegsett said the US military was ready for a “regime change” operation in Venezuela.
