Trump’s Craving for American Empire: From Annexing Canada to Expanding Borders.
: US President Donald Trump, who returned to the White House in the final months of 1403 (January 20), and took power for the second time, presented his ambitious plans to expand American influence and territory. Some of these plans included the acquisition of Greenland, the retaking of the Panama Canal, the annexation of Canada and Mexico, and the renaming of the Gulf of Mexico to the “Gulf of America.”
Renaming the “Gulf of Mexico” to the “Gulf of America”
In the first days of his second term as president, US President Donald Trump issued an executive order to change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the “Gulf of America.” This action was taken as part of his policies to “restore American greatness.”
Following this order, the US Department of the Interior announced in a statement that the name of the Gulf of Mexico had been officially changed to the “Gulf of America.” Also, the name of Denali in Alaska was changed back to “Mount McKinley.”
