Trump’s election promises: I will cancel Biden’s restrictions on carrying weapons

PNN – Donald Trump, the former president of the United States, promised to cancel the regulations and restrictions imposed by Joe Biden’s administration on carrying weapons if he returns to the White House.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Reuters, Trump, in a long speech at the “National Rifle Association Leadership Conference” held in Dallas, asked the members of this association to participate in the presidential elections in November.

In his speech, which lasted more than 90 minutes, he addressed thousands of attendees and members of the National Rifle Association (NRA) in America: We must take gun owners to the polls. In my opinion, you are a rebellious bunch. Be a rebel and vote this time.

The National Rifle Association, which is the largest gun lobbying group and supporter of gun carrying in the United States, previously supported Trump’s candidacy in the presidential elections of this country in 2016 and 2020, and this time it also supported him in the 2024 elections.

During his presidency from 2017 to 2021, Trump paid special attention to the National Association of Firearms and Gun Owners, for example, during the Corona epidemic, he included gun stores as critical businesses and allowed these centers to remain open during the Corona epidemic.

In his speech on Saturday night, Trump also promised to fire the director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) on his first day back in the White House. He accused the director of this office of implementing restrictions on carrying weapons and being strict with the owners of weapons.

US President Joe Biden, with the support of both major US parties, signed the gun control plan, which includes background checks for people under the age of 21 before buying a gun and strengthens regulations against gun trafficking. This plan also expands financial resources for the mental health system.

A large number of Republicans are against these restrictions and say that these provisions violate the Second Amendment of the US Constitution on the need to defend the people and the right to bear arms.

Addressing his supporters at the National Rifle Association, Trump promised: “In my second term, I will undo every attack that Biden has made on the Second Amendment.”

In response to these statements, Biden’s campaign announced that Trump prioritizes the interests and demands of the gun lobby over public security.
