Trump’s new CEO distances himself from Elon Musk.
Scott Cooper, the new head of the U.S. Office of Human Resources Management, has stated that he has no personal relationship with Elon Musk, the tech billionaire and former Trump adviser, and has pledged to implement the president’s plans faithfully.
The new head of the agency leading efforts to reduce the federal workforce was sworn in earlier this month as head of the Office of Human Resources Management.
“I have no personal relationship with Elon Musk. I’ve only spoken to him on the phone once in my entire life,” Cooper told reporters.
He added: “I’ve told Trump and everyone else in the White House that my job is to implement the plan that the president sets out to the best of my ability.”
“But I will not implement it under someone else’s goals that are inconsistent with the president’s wishes,” Cooper said.
