Trump’s popularity continues to decline

PNN – The results of a new poll in the United States indicate that Donald Trump’s popularity continues to decline.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the results of a survey conducted by The Economist and YouGov show that as Trump’s new global trade policies increase, the US President’s popularity is declining.

According to the poll, more than half of the participants (51 percent) said they disapproved of Trump’s job performance, while 43 percent approved of his actions.

The results of a similar poll by The Economist and YouGov conducted two weeks ago showed Trump with 48 percent approval and 49 percent disapproval, a two-point decline in his popularity compared to the current poll conducted from April 4 to 8.

Hill cited the widespread tariffs imposed by Trump on various countries in the past two weeks as one of the consequences of the US President’s trade policy.

Although Trump announced late last week that he would maintain a 10 percent base tariff on all goods imported into the United States and a 90-day moratorium on other broad tariffs on countries that cooperate with his administration in negotiations, tariffs on China remain in place, reaching 145 percent. In retaliation for this action by the Washington government, Beijing has emphasized that it is not afraid of US trade threats and has so far imposed a 125% tax on goods imported from the United States.
