Trump’s popularity continues to decline in American public opinion

PNN – A new poll shows that US President Donald Trump’s approval rating continues to decline, dropping to 41 percent.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing AFP, the results of a joint survey by The Economist magazine and YouGov polling firm indicate that American citizens’ dissatisfaction with Trump’s performance in key areas such as the economy and immigration has increased.

The poll, released Wednesday night, shows that Trump’s approval rating was around 50 percent in February; it has now fallen to 41 percent.

American voters last year viewed Trump as a strongman on the economic front, but his heavy tariffs on foreign goods have caused volatility in global markets.

About 37 percent of Americans in January believed the economy was getting worse under Trump, but that figure has now risen to 54 percent.

According to a YouGov and Economist poll, while 50% of Americans approved of Trump’s performance on immigration two weeks ago, only 45% of Americans now approve of his immigration policies.

Furthermore, the latest Pew Research Center poll shows that Trump’s approval rating has dropped to 40% as he approaches the 100th day of his second term in the White House.

An Ipsos-Reuters poll also showed that Trump’s approval rating has fallen to 42 percent, his lowest since his return as US president.
