Trump’s reaction to Putin’s support for Harris: “I don’t know if it was an insult or a favor?”
According to Rashatudi, Russian President Vladimir Putin’s statement that he prefers Democratic candidate Kamala Harris to win the 2024 US presidential election brought different reactions. In one of these reactions, Donald Trump, the former president and Republican candidate, said that his duty is not clear with this comment!
Putin earlier said at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok that Moscow would prefer Harris to win the November US election. He added that he admires Harris’ “infectious laugh” and respects the election of current US President Joe Biden, a Democrat, in his support.
In response to this comment, Trump said: Putin supported Kamala, and I didn’t know if I should call him and say, “Thank you very much”; I don’t know exactly what to say about this comment! I don’t know if he insulted me or did me a favor!
In response to Putin’s comments, US national security spokesman John Kirby said that the Russian president should refrain from discussing the US election. Putin’s comments came in response to a question about the US presidential election. The question that was raised was whether he has a favorable option now after Biden withdrew from the election candidacy.
In response to this question, Putin said that choosing the best option in the American elections is not Russia’s job, but the responsibility of the American voters. Moscow has repeatedly strongly denied Washington’s accusations of trying to interfere in the US elections.
Putin went on to say about Harris that his cheerfulness and cheerfulness could mean that he would refuse to impose sanctions on Russia as much as Trump. According to Putin, the former US president has imposed more sanctions against Russia than all contemporary US presidents.
