Trump’s representative reacts to Araqchi’s tweet and deletes his response after an hour

PNN – Steve Whittaker, US President Donald Trump’s special representative for the Middle East, responded to a tweet by Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araqchi, but deleted his post from the X network an hour later.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, wrote yesterday on his X Network (formerly Twitter) account: Diplomatic interaction has shown its effectiveness in the past; it can still be effective.

Steve Whittaker, Trump’s special envoy for the Middle East, also initially responded to Araqchi’s comments on Wednesday local time by writing, “Great,” but deleted the comment an hour later.

The Iranian Foreign Minister wrote on his account on Tuesday local time: It should be clear to everyone that there is no such thing as a “military option,” let alone a “military solution.” The US president may not be interested in the 2015 nuclear deal. But that agreement includes a key commitment from Iran that remains in place, and even the United States—which is outside the agreement—has benefited from it: Iran reaffirms that it will never, under any circumstances, seek to seek, produce, or acquire nuclear weapons.

Ten years after the signing of the JCPOA – and seven years after the US unilaterally withdrew from it – there is not a shred of evidence that Iran has violated this commitment. Even US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard recently fully acknowledged this.

Diplomatic engagement has proven effective in the past and can still be effective. However, it should be clear to everyone that there is no such thing as a “military option,” let alone a “military solution.”

The catastrophic failures in our region, which have cost previous US administrations more than $7 trillion, speak for themselves.

US President Donald Trump, who has repeatedly expressed hope for reaching an agreement with Iran during his second term, claimed on February 4, 2025, by signing a memorandum to continue the policy of maximum pressure against the Islamic Republic of Iran that he was ready to talk to the Iranian President. Stating that he had “hesitated” to sign this memorandum, he claimed: This is very difficult for Iran. I hope we don’t have to use it too much. We’ll see if we can reach an agreement with Iran.

Despite signing a memorandum imposing a maximum pressure policy on Tehran, the US President announced in an interview with the country’s Fox Business news network on March 7, 2025, that he had sent a letter to the Supreme Leader of Iran and requested negotiations.
