Trump’s revenge on South Africa for the trial of the Zionist regime

South Africa

PNN – Donald Trump, claiming dissatisfaction with the domestic and foreign policies of the South Africa, which is pursuing a plan to prosecute the Zionist regime, announced that the country will not be invited to the upcoming G20 summit in the United States.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Al-Mayadeen, US President Donald Trump announced that South Africa will not receive an invitation to attend the 2026 G20 summit, after US media reported yesterday that the country does not intend to invite South Africa to participate in the 2026 G20 events to be held on US soil.

After Washington boycotted the G20 summit in Johannesburg, the South African capital, last week, Trump said South Africa would not receive an invitation to attend next year’s G20 summit in Florida.

Trump stated in a post on Truth Social: At the end of the G20 Summit, South Africa refused to hand over the G20 presidency to the senior representative of the US Embassy who was present at the closing ceremony. Therefore, on my instructions, South Africa will not receive an invitation to the 2026 G20 Summit, which will be hosted by Miami, Florida, next year.

South Africa: US absence has no impact on G20 summit

South Africa’s response to the US government’s action

The office of South African President Cyril Ramaphosa called Trump’s remarks regrettable and announced: Due to the absence of the American delegation at last week’s summit, the documents of the G20 presidency were officially handed over to an official of the US Embassy in the South African Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation.

The South African presidency stressed: It is regrettable that despite the numerous efforts and actions of Ramaphosa and his government to reset diplomatic relations with the United States, Trump continues to impose punitive measures against South Africa based on misinformation and distortions about our country.

Since entering the White House in his second term as president of the United States, Trump has repeatedly criticized the South African government’s domestic and foreign policies. Trump said that South Africa has shown itself to be unfit to be a member of anywhere and that we are going to immediately stop all aid to it.

The White House emphasized in a statement on November 10 of this year that it would not participate in any formal negotiations regarding the G20 summit in South Africa.

It should be noted that the G20 summit began on Saturday, December 1, this week in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The administration of US President Donald Trump had announced that South Africa’s priorities in the areas of trade cooperation and climate action were not aligned with US policies, and the country’s president had refused to attend the summit.

One of the factors that has soured the Trump administration’s relations with South Africa is South Africa’s activation of the Israeli regime’s trial case at the Hague court. South Africa filed the case in December 2023, accusing the Israeli regime of genocidal acts in Gaza.

South Africa submitted a detailed 500-page report in October 2024. The Israeli regime’s arguments are scheduled to be presented by January 12, 2026. Oral hearings in the trial are expected in 2027, with a final verdict expected in late 2027 or early 2028.

The International Court of Justice has so far issued three interim rulings ordering the Israeli regime to stop the genocide in Gaza and allow humanitarian aid to enter Gaza, but the Israeli regime has opposed these requests.
