Trump’s threats and deadlines to Russia; a psychological game with Moscow and Europe.

Last year, in the chaotic atmosphere of the US election campaign, Donald Trump made a loud promise with a calculated tactic: “If re-elected, I will end the war in Ukraine in less than 10 days.”

At first glance, this claim may have seemed like just a bold election slogan, but with Trump coming to power, his election claims can be seen as a sign of a kind of multifaceted engineering of power, psychological pressure, and playing with the concepts of international order.

Trump, who in the first four years of his presidency showed his disregard for the principles of international institutions, classical balances of power, and conventional rules of diplomacy, is trying this time to present himself as the only solution to the Ukrainian crisis by combining psychological pressure, intra-Western coalition building, and exploiting Europe’s weakness. However, America’s inefficiency in resolving crises such as Gaza, Iran, and even its domestic crisis with China further calls this claim into question.
