Turki al-Faisal: Iran and Saudi Arabia have a common desire to cooperate.

Turki Al-Faisal, the former head of Saudi Arabia’s intelligence, said on Sunday that the talks between the officials and leaders of Saudi Arabia and Iran are continuing and that there is a common desire between the two countries to continue bilateral cooperation.

In an interview with Al-Arabiya, he said that the last contact was between the foreign ministers of the two countries, and this is proof that the two countries want this communication to be a beacon for future cooperation in the field of bilateral relations, not for tension and crisis and differences.

Turki al-Faisal also said that the leaders of the two countries have concluded that the method of communication is more useful than any other method.

In March of last year, Saudi Arabia and Iran reached an agreement in Beijing on the restoration of relations after nearly eight years of the suspension of relations due to the Riyadh coalition’s invasion of Yemen and regional issues.

Last week, Hossein Amirabdollahian had a telephone conversation with Faisal Bin Farhan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, discussing bilateral issues and areas of joint cooperation between the two countries and regional issues, including the developments in Gaza.
