PNN – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has announced that his country is ready to help strengthen the ceasefire mechanism between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Yeni Safak, Erdogan said during a meeting with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif that Turkey is prepared to participate in efforts to consolidate the ceasefire mechanism between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Emphasizing the strengthening of friendly relations with Islamabad, Erdogan said efforts would be made to expand cooperation between the two countries in various fields, including energy, trade, and investment.

He also welcomed the extension of the ceasefire between Pakistan and Afghanistan and declared Turkey’s readiness to take part in any mechanism established to maintain calm and prevent conflict.

Erdogan and Sharif met on the sidelines of the International Forum for Peace and Trust in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan.

The International Forum for Peace and Trust in Ashgabat was held to mark the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality and following the designation of 2025 as the “International Year of Peace and Trust” by the United Nations General Assembly, with Turkmenistan hosting the event.
