Türkiye: Ukraine war approaching critical crossroads.
According to Al Jazeera, the Turkish Foreign Minister, who traveled to the Ukrainian capital Kiev, said: We are approaching a crucial crossroads regarding the war in Ukraine.
Hakan Fidan continued his speech by adding: The Istanbul talks on May 16 were a new beginning for the process of diplomatic resolution of the Ukrainian crisis. We want to continue the process started in Istanbul and we are ready to host a new round of talks.
The Turkish Foreign Minister announced: Russia has informed us of its readiness to continue the talks on June 2, and we are consulting with Ukraine on this matter.
Fidan’s statements came while the US special envoy for Ukraine also emphasized that Russia’s concerns about the expansion of NATO’s eastern wing are natural.
The US official noted that he had advised Kiev to refrain from making statements that indicate that it would not participate in peace talks with Russia.
