Turning food distribution centers in Gaza into “death traps”
Al Jazeera News Network has reported on the process of receiving food aid from American-Zionist centers in Gaza and has listed the hardships of this incident for the people.
Al Jazeera writes: The people of Gaza are so hungry that they will take any risk to receive a morsel of bread. One of the only remaining routes to reach a bag of flour in Gaza is through the crossings that take them to the so-called American and Israeli humanitarian institutions, where the enemy traps them and often ends up in a slaughterhouse instead of helping.
Al Jazeera’s “Sand” news agency examined satellite images from July 13 that show the humanitarian aid distribution center in the Shakush area in the southern Gaza Strip, where hungry people go to receive aid. Still, many of them return to their areas, martyred or wounded in the hands of people.
Reaching this area is not easy, and it is possible to use a cart or car for hungry people up to a certain point, at which point they have to get off and walk a distance of one and a half kilometers. Many of them arrive at the desired location several hours or several days before the aid is due to arrive.
Where is Al-Jawra?
People waiting in the desert go to Al-Jawra to escape the heat and the long wait. This name refers to a sandy hole between the hills, 560 meters behind the Israeli barrier. They wait in this area to be safe from enemy gunfire until the signal is fired to start humanitarian aid.
The extreme temperature and the long wait create a lot of trouble for hungry families. Families sometimes have to be present at this place and take turns in order to be able to secure a bag of flour.
Start of the distribution process
When the signal for the start of the distribution of aid via Israeli drones is announced, people should move towards the aid distribution centers. Of course, this route is always full of danger, and people may be targeted by the Israeli regime’s snipers. The Israeli occupying army has taken complete control of the city of Rafah and filled it with checkpoints and equipment, and has prepared positions for shooting and flying drones there.
