The European Union’s foreign policy chief, Kaia Kallas, announced on Tuesday that the bloc would review its trade agreement with Israel due to the “catastrophic” situation in Gaza.

The agreement to send aid was reached during a phone call between Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, UAE Foreign Minister, and his Israeli counterpart, Gideon Sa’ar.

The aid will initially meet the food needs of approximately 15,000 civilians in Gaza. It will also include essential bakery items and baby care supplies.

Earlier on Tuesday, a spokesperson for the UN Humanitarian Office in Geneva announced that Israel had allowed about 100 trucks carrying humanitarian aid to enter Gaza.

However, Hamas and humanitarian groups in Gaza say that they have not yet received any trucks carrying food aid for distribution in Gaza, and that the Zionist authorities are only deceiving public opinion.
