UAE mercenaries oppose withdrawal from Hadhramaut and Al-Mahra

PNN – Emirati mercenaries, while opposing withdrawal from Hadhramaut and Al Mahrah in southern Yemen, have sent extensive military equipment to these areas.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network citing Al-Yemen Net, the group known as the Southern Transitional Council of Yemen, affiliated with the UAE, announced that it will not withdraw from the provinces of Hadhramaut and Al Mahrah in southern Yemen.

Based on this report, the Southern Transitional Council has recently sent extensive military equipment to Hadhramaut to strengthen its presence and influence in the region.

In recent weeks, differences between Riyadh and Abu Dhabi over Yemen have intensified. The Saudi-led coalition targeted an Emirati arms shipment for the Southern Transitional Council of Yemen in an airstrike. Following that, Saudi Arabia gave the UAE a 24-hour ultimatum to withdraw its forces due to the UAE’s actions in supporting southern Yemeni separatists. The UAE’s Ministry of Defense also issued a statement announcing that the mission of these forces had ended at Abu Dhabi’s request.

Saudi Arabia’s official television yesterday posted a message on the social media platform ‘X,’ announcing: With one day left in the year, the [Arab] coalition closed the UAE’s file in Yemen.

Southern Yemen has been the scene of intense competition between Saudi Arabia and the UAE for political and military influence in recent years. The UAE has strengthened its presence in Hadhramaut and Al Mahrah by supporting forces known as the Southern Transitional Council. This competition has caused tension and occasional confrontation between various parties, further complicating the process of stability and political resolution of the Yemen crisis.
